Were getting some Girls!!

" The Girls" that I am referring to are Speckled Sussex, Buff Orpingtons, New Island Reds and Silverlaced Wyandottes. Our peepers in other words! I grew up in the country, but Joe is was weaned in the 'burbs'. When we decided to move out to the country, I new I wanted some type of farm animal. If it were up to Anna and Josie they would have horses, cows, pigs, goats and sheep. So... First Come the Chickens!! My Mom and Dad are as excited as Anna and Josie!! Dad already has plans for building the coop and Mom has been reading lots of books on what type of chicks we should get. Me- I am excited about the joy the girls will get from collecting eggs and that my Mom will have her fresh eggs that she has always wanted!
We don't have our Girls yet, but we are getting cute little finches finally coming to our window feeder! It is in our kitchen nook were there is much action going on all the time so I was not for sure if they would come. I was pleasantly surprised to see one land and start feeding when I was cleaning up the table last night!! Then today I was able to get a pretty good shot of her visiting!!
Josie and Anna are so in awe that we get to see them so close up- and so am I!!
