Overcoming Anxiety Actively
Leo Daily Horoscope
Uneasiness may come over you today as you ruminate on your long-term plans. What once seemed like a thoroughly foolproof course of action can now seem incomplete and immature. You may begin to question whether your life is stable enough in the present to ensure that moving forward with your plans won稚 throw off your personal or professional balance. Consider, however, that many of the details that are causing your anxiety are likely wholly beyond the reach of your control. You may find that actively addressing those elements of your plan that you can affect allows you to put your worries aside in order to proceed with a mind unencumbered by disquiet. Today may be the day you conceive of the goals that help you create your ultimate future.
Focusing on what you can do to bring about the future of your dreams rather than those elements of your future that are beyond your control ensures that you can pursue your ambitions without being plagued by anxiety. It is natural to believe that concentrating on the object of your fears will help you triumph over them and face them bravely if they come to pass. But fear can interfere with your ability to take a practical and dedicated approach to your goals. When your thoughts are centered on utilizing the whole of your personal power to positively affect the future, you have little time for worry. You値l expend energy only on those activities and thoughts that result in progress. You値l move forward boldly and with intent today when you put aside your ineffectual worries.

My Thoughts right now...
In nature, solstice occurs twice each year, heralding the longest and shortest of days. The first lures us outside to fireflies and cricket serenades. The second chases us back in, to fireside fairy tales and mugs of warmth.
Motherhood mirrors nature in this rhythmic dance. But the long days are filled with nagging worries, multiplying messes, seemingly mundane tasks, and little contact with the outside world. Time seems to stand still. The short days, all magic and mystery, shimmer and vanish like a comet’s tail. We savour every minute and as night falls, we kiss sleepy eyelids, turn out the light, and wonder where the time went.
Round and round we go. Long and short. Short and long. The days ebb and flow and run together. This business of bringing up these girls, is not for the faint of heart. And yet my heart does faint. The demands of the day press in and I grow weary in the thick of it. In the process of keeping up with my car keys, chores, appointments and a beloved poodle and blankie, I often misplace my faith. I place it in my husband. He is, after all, strong and reliable – yet fallible and human. I hang it on the approval of others. If they think I have it all together, surely I’m doing something right. But more often, I simply neglect it, be it for busyness, boredom, or the incessant bantering in my own head.
I know that there are many out there who doubt the existence of God. Many days I am one of them. Life gives us plenty of material with which to make our case. I stumble and squander, rage and retreat. I have questions and doubts. But in the throes of uncertainty, if I gather my wits about me long enough to look over my shoulder, there’s no denying I’ve been carried along – sometimes kicking and screaming, but carried, nonetheless. There is much mystery in the world. I think I have suffered, not from asking too many questions, but from asking too few. For every answer that Grace has given, I have yet another question…and an inkling that I’m not the only one. Thankfully, He’s big enough.
The prayer preceeding all prayers is this,
May it be the real I who speaks.
May it be the real Thou that I speak to.
C.S. Lewis, Letters to Malcom, Chiefly on Prayer

Unfortunatley.....
How about a little diversion? This is so funny!! Here's how to play... just do a Google search of the phrase "unfortunately, _______" but put your first name in the blank (be sure to enclose it all in quotation marks). The resultant phrases are hilarious if you have a slightly twisted sense of humor and an appreciation for random absurdity. Some examples...
Unfortunately, Jenny never had much of a chance; she was sidelined into 'tramp' roles from the word go.
Unfortunately, Jenny's good, but she's not that good.
Unfortunately, Jenny can only accept cash or a personal cheque.
Unfortunately, Jenny has very little to do in this movie except look pretty, but even her great beauty is concealed most of the time.
Unfortunately, Jenny wasn’t able to pick up the puppy until after 4:00 p.m.
Unfortunately, Jenny's bullying dark side is what she'll be remembered for.
Unfortunately, Jenny is possessed by Muriel's ghost, and the fun (revenge) begins.
Unfortunately, Jenny didn’t throw her Diet Coke on Mark and scream, “Shut the **** up about that homewrecking ****!"
Unfortunately, Jenny didn't wield the cowbell on Breakin' Up.
Such a hoot! And, it is true that I do conceal my great beauty most of the time!!!HA!
Go ahead, try it!
Cheers,
Jenny
ps - I thought an image from A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket would be fitting. This is from book six, artwork by the amazing and masterful Brett Helquist.

Om is always on target...it is really strange
I really enjoy reading Daily OM. It is very inspirational for me and I love how positive it is. I am not normally into horoscopes, but since I have been reading OM for awhile, they have always been right on. I think it applies to everyone though, not just us Leos!! But, it is almost always with what I am struggling with at that time!! This is my horoscope for today:

Balancing Needs
Leo Daily Horoscope
You may find comfort in home or family matters today. Perhaps you feel the need to spend quality time with loved ones or beautify your home to so that it feels more comfortable. These feelings might trigger fond childhood memories for you. If you have other obligations today that require your attention away from home, you may want to try putting some of those tasks aside or taking less time to accomplish them so you can return home sooner. You also may want to connect with loved ones and revel in their support and affection. Remember that your home and the people that matter to you can be your greatest sources of comfort.
We can create a greater sense of balance in our lives by establishing an ongoing compromise between fulfilling our obligations and meeting our emotional needs. Though our responsibilities may occasionally seem like an intrusion upon our personal time, we do have the ability to make time for both. We may periodically need to rearrange our schedule or postpone what we need to take care of. With a little flexibility and determination, however, we can meet our objectives and needs so that we are fulfilled in all areas of our life. By making an effort to balance your activities today, you can take care of yourself while fulfilling your obligations.
Yesterday, we turned down a couple of Christmas Parties to just be a family, today I feel the pressure of needing to go out and get stuff done. Instead of doing things outside the home, I really do need to stay here and take care of my home :) Balancing is a hard thing for me~ Thank you OM for helping me see it in a positive way!

GIVING
This year a new Tiberi Family Christmas Tradition is being born!! My girls have always loved going to Barnes and Noble to pick out books for children in need (which we still are doing) and we also help give toys to children in one way or another. This year we feel that we need to add on to the giving part a bit more so we have been researching charities together as a family so the girls can give some of their money to. We have found some great ones!! Below you will find a list:
Changing the Present : A broad storehouse of charitable giving organizations and gift options related to specific topics, from “Basic Needs” to “Community”, “Health & Safety”, “Environment” and “Opportunity.”
Kiva : Kiva connects people through lending for the sake of alleviating poverty.
Heifer International : This organization is committed to ending world hunger and global poverty, as well as promoting environmental stewardship, through a variety of initiatives. My Mom had Heifer International come in to her class a couple of years a go to speak and it was Amazing!! We gathered money for a goat.
Oxfam : Oxfam works with international communities to improve the lives of the world’s poor.
Trees for the Future : Trees For the Future improves livelihood and degraded lands by planting beneficial trees.
Save the Manatee : Co-founded by Jimmy Buffet, this organization works to protect endangered manatees and their aquatic habitats.
Operation Eyesight : A remarkable endeavor, dedicated to eliminating avoidable blindness. This is one of my personal favorites!

Taking care of Gizmo
Josie was the lucky turkey whose name was drawn to take good care of Gizmo the Turtle for Thanksgiving. Lucky us. Gizmo came home to three Pups, a bird, a gerbil, frogs, two cats and chickens down the lane oh yea, and more Kitty's. Would he fit in?? Would we want him to? It turned out that Gizmo was a wonderful guest. He watched us has we fixed Thanksgiving dinner quietly, he did not bark, meow, chirp or have to exercise noisily at night. We did not have to clean up his poo, change his tank or play ball. We could leave our shoes out around him and he would not chew them up. Gizmo, I miss your little smile and how quiet and calm you were. The way you did not beg, sing loud, skreech, and jump was so mannerley. Could you help me out with the others, you know who I am talking about Gizmo. I miss you smiling and shaking your head while the others were partying it up. I miss your wise ways Gizmo. Is there an exchange program for school/home pets? Davis, Davey, Harley, Molly, Violet, Maddie, Kelly and the Gossip Girls (I know I am forgetting somebody)can come and visit CMEC while we take care of you Gizmo... I think school would do them all good, while you could be a home pet for a bit longer.....how does that sound Amanda??????
Watching Gizmo!

my Thanksgiving Picture
We have been having beautiful weather here in Ohio. Sunny and in the 60's! Mother Nature must have been in the holiday mood like the rest of us on Thanksgiving though. We had a beauthiful snow fall! Of course the girls had to go outside to catch snowflakes on their tongue, play and make snowballs. Here is one of my only pictures from Thanksgiving...not turkey a snowball, I forgot my camera (my family was very excited not to have flashes going off like lightning all day, especially Grandpa!)but they did allow me to take a picture of their Thanksgiving Snowball when we got home!!!!
Thanks Mother Nature for giving me something to take a picture of!!!
