The Programs at the Columbus Art Museum are wonderful! Our family especially likes going once a month to the Doodles program. This month we went with our great friends The Owens, Lisa,Sydney, and Mary. We studied the stone carvings of Tim Lewis. He is known for making folk art carvings that represent a story or a fable. The kids then were given a piece of wood to paint, collage, and draw on to make their own piece of art that represented a story that they enjoy. All four of them opted to paint there depiction.
My dear friend Lisa loves the art by Georgia O'Keeffe so we went to visit one of Lisa's favorite paintings by her. I don't think we were allowed to take this picture, but I am glad I snapped it so Lisa could have an actual painting of her standing by a piece of art of an artist that she truly admires!! Lisa taught me many cool facts about her that I never knew, Georgia O' Keefe lived a interesting life and knowing more about her makes me appreciate her work. Thanks Lisa!!
I really enjoy many of the photos taken from our day at the museum, but one of my favorite is the one with the three girls in front of the camel. Look closely however and you may spot another cutie!!!
