Diagnosing Girls with Autism

Autism and SPD still makes no sense to me. How can it manifest itself SO differently in each child? Who ever decided to use the puzzle piece as a logo was right on. I am trying to make sense of autism and SPD. This diagnosis does not mean the end of the world, but it was the beginning of a very long road. First you need to find the correct diagnosis from a knowledgeable group of doctors, keep searching for anything that Will help your child succeed (school, therapists, meds., nutrition, pets). For the rest of the way, you need a wonderful, understanding family(we are blessed to have the best of the best!),a couple of great friends(thank you friends!), a lot of information, and a sense of humor. I am learning to live by the words, “Learn to declare victory and get the hell out!” Throw away expectation, and you may be pleasantly surprised!

Check out this VERY INFORMATIVE news story about girls with Autism, it is worth watching!
