Our Day

Life does not get much better than this...Having alone time with my Josie and the sun is shining!! I relish anytime that I get with Anna, Josie, or Joe, but it has been awhile since Josie and I have had a day out and about just with each other. Today is the last day of Josies spring break and with poor Anna being really sick , we have not had time to do much. We are lucky to have a Mom who did not mind hanging out with sick Anna! Best of all Anna was so Amazing about it! After missing her last co-op and the pizza party, the bowling party and the Stratford Center with the bees(which she and I thought would be so, so, cool!) she still was really sweet about Josie and I going out and having some fun while she stayed in bed sick. My girls, sometimes they really surprise me and believe me, I am relishing in those little surprises because they don't come that often right now!!
Josie and I hit Build -A- Bear first. Josie has never been a toy gal, but baby bring on the stuffed animals! Between Build-a- Bear and Webkinz... we won't go there. Lets just say when people ask how many webkinz my child has, that is when I tell them it is O.K. tell a white lie...it really is something that I am not proud of but it is really bad when you feel like you have to explain to people why Josie has___ amount of webkinz. Today when her big hazel eyes said she wanted to go to Build-a-Bear, I was weak and could not say no. Josie has not made a Build -a- Bear in about two years...see there I go making an excuse. Darn it- my baby wanted a Panda, so today she got it! Whew, I feel better!!
So, when we got to Build-A-Bear, Josie meets a lady in her 70's that works there. Josie and the elderly hit it off, she loves them and vice versa. She finds out that Peggy (the older lady) is looking for hidden eggs in the store because if the employees find them, they get an extra 15 min. break. Josie was on a hunt to find Peggy this egg! Josie told Peggy that she hoped she found all the eggs, then whispered to me that she had to find one for her so she could get some time to rest!!! And you wonder why I could not say no to a stuffed animal. The Manager was a sweetie and she heard Josie talking about Peggy needing that egg. After about 45 min. of searching(no Kidding) the SWEET Manager pointed us in the right direction and we found the Pink Pig Egg for Peggy!!! Josie was REALLY happy to give her that egg. She did not care that she found it, but that Peggy got it. This is how Josie is... Amazing I know.
Next we went to Justice to pick out Josie a outfit. If you know Josie then you know that I was a bit worried about this trip. The young cute girls at Justice were so wonderful with her! They ask if she would come out and model the clothes for the three of them. Josie stood there looking very worried. she did not know what they meant, but the Justice girls picked up on that pretty quick and said that she was just so pretty, but they understood if she did not want to model. Josie actually came out with a NEW OUTFIT!!! I think it gave me more pleasure than her!!!! OMG! She looks sooo darn cute!! I think I would have spent any amount to see her get some new clothes! Josie found one pair of shorts and one top that she liked!! I was not going to push my luck in having her try on anything else...SHE HAS A New OUTFIT!!!!! After wearing only two outfits this entire year, this is a Big deal!!Plus the outfits that she has been wearing I have Sewn and Sewn and Sewn- well my Sweet Mom has-Thank You!! I know she will still be wearing these two pair of pants, but to see Josie in something that was not pieced together or have stains on it, was BEAUTIFUL!! I felt so happy for HER!!!It is crazy that I beg for her to go shopping... but really this is not a fun thing when your daughter is in pain from her clothes. I hope she will wear this outfit again, but I'll take today!!!
O.K. Family and Friends you are not going to believe this next part.....Josie even went to get her hair cut on the same day!!!!! It was hard at first, but she did it!!! And what made it wonderful is that Jennifer, the lady who had to wash Josies hair every week for two years was back!! As an infant until three years old she could not get even a drop of water in her ears becuse of risk of getting a horrible ear infection. Josie could not even use any type of drops in her ears because the moistue would give her an infection.Crazy, I know, but true. So between dry shampoos we would go see Jennifer who was Great with her!! Right when we walked in Jennifer yelled " OH MY GOSH! IT'S JOSIE!" Jennifer has been overseeing all of the Cookie Cutter hair salons in the Columbus area for the last 6 years. She remembered Josie from that long ago!! I loved seeing her as much as she loved seeing Josie!! Jennifer decided to concentrate on the Gahanna Store because they are going through a tough time, so she will be here for awhile! YEA! We seriously were there ALL the Time- we even got to be in a news clip for them, they ask us to come at a certain time so Anna and Josie could be the kids in the news clip! I'm sure you remember seeing my beautiful girls!? Josie said that she only wanted Jennifer to cut her hair, and of course the young girl who was about to cut it, got a kick out of that. Jennifer relished in it!! I think in some strange way Josie remembers her. It would not surprise me. So with a new outfit and Josie getting her hair cut, life is not just good, but Great!!!Best of all my Baby is Happy! I am so proud of her, this was an amazing day for an amazing gorgeous eight year old girl!
