Rain, Rain We are going to Play!

I hate the rain!!!! Not that I don't relish in breathing in the woody clean smell, the sound that I hear on the roof and the comfort that a nice rainy day can bring, but it brings 12 muddy dog paws, 4 crocs loaded with nature exploration caked on them more hidden in the holes- then Rain and I go to battle. With Rain always ahead of me, beating me down with its never ending drops.
While I was looking over these pictures however, I was beginning to not fight as hard.My hot head was cooling down Seeing the joy it brings to my Sweet Puddle jumpers and the creatures that are being found in all of our "ponds". Rain is beckoning me to stop fighting and just slow down and relish in all the gifts that it brings to us. Perhaps Rain was not wanting to fight me at all, but I'm the one outside yelling and cursing at him and only seeing his dark clouds. I need to find the rainbows, because I am not going to win this fight...
For now Rain, I will take your wonderful smells, slow down to jump in a few Puddles, explore more and see that you are turning our grass a bright green and keeping our tulips and daffodils blooming. I will try to worry less about muddy paws, and have fun PLAYING IN THE RAIN and maybe even try to make a couple of mud pies. O.K. not the mud pies because I clean enough mud pies off the 12 paws, but I will try to let myself enjoy you more and maybe even let my boots get good and muddy!
Oh and by the way, that is a baby snapping turtle that Anna caught, a crawdad that Joe referred to as a lobster, and a almost 12 inch worm that Josie found in the pictures below!! The treasures that we find!! We also had a Blue Heron on one of our many rain made ponds around our land having a great time splashing around! That was cool!
